About SAIGC

The SAIGC is affiliated with the South Australian Golf Association which, therefore, allows each playing member of the SAIGC to have an official registered handicap which is recognised by all golf clubs in Australia.

The South Australian Italian Golf Club Inc. (SAIGC) was established in September 1989 by a few very keen and dedicated golfers with a view to promote and encourage the sport of golf amongst, in particular, the Italian community in South Australia. The SAIGC comprises of male, female and junior members, with new members joining reguarly.

The SAIGC was the second registered ‘Italian’ golf club in the world outside of Italy. The first is the Victorian Italian Golf Association, NSW formed an Italian Golf Association in 1996, Queensland followed suit in 2003 and Western Australia formed in 2016. Since then, all five clubs compete annually in what is known as the Festival City Challenge Cup.
